Kolumbarium DIE EICHE, Lübeck
Art holds a special place at the columbarium DIE EICHE in Lübeck.
It creates a bridge that helps the bereaved navigate their emotions, encouraging them to engage with themes of death, grief, and remembrance, while also reminding them of the wonder and beauty of life. This is why our JAHRESGABE — which the columbarium introduced in 2025 — means so much to them.
For this inaugural edition, Ulrike Heydenreich has created thirteen original works exclusively for the SAMMLUNG DIE EICHE under the title AUS DER FERNE (From Afar). Drawn from historic black-and-white photographs, these delicate pencil drawings reveal snow-covered alpine landscapes — scenes that feel as if viewed through a distant lens.
